The Cape Cultural Collective (CCC) embarked on a process of doing professional recordings at the beginning of 2022.

The idea germinated after a team did an audio recording of Midnight Blue, an original track that was used in the award-winning short film Address Unknown.

The film, centred on the story of the last postman of district six during the tragedy of forced removals, won a SAFTA for the best short film of 2021.

The notion of having high quality recordings was spurred on by the need to have good content for marketing and online performances.

Since then, the CCC has produced four videos – one each for music, poetry and dance, another a music video of Midnight Blue and in June 2025 a video called Our Story that reflects the journey of the CCC over nearly two decades.

The Triple C Recordings initiative is one of nine projects of the CCC.
