Name: Meagan Baradien
Position in CCC: Logistics for the arts and nature programme

Bio:
Morê, Mornings and Molweni ✨✨.

I ensure that our monthly planned hikes run as smoothly as butter. I arrange transportation to and from our destination and ensure that everyone’s stomachs are filled to the brim, all at the CCC’s expense. However, we are trying to start a kitty for the program.

It all started when Aziza Davids introduced me to the Rosa Choir back in 2016 (that is how long I’ve been involved with the CCC). I’ve been at home for a long while, but the CCC thought about exposing their youth to gain experience in different fields. I was trained by Aziza David to take over the logistics for the environmental program, and we had writing workshops with Oom Mansoor Jaffer and photography workshops with Oom Chris Ferndale; both were equally beneficial and fun. I am also invited to sit in on the steering committee meetings. The CCC is an amazing platform for personal growth.

I enjoy working with different people all around Cape Town and meeting new faces at our gatherings. We dance, sing, and always have fun with one another. After a hiking session, you can feel all your tension leaving your body; it is a pure relief 😮‍💨. They are very inclusive to everyone from every culture, language, and background. ‘Intyamtyambo’ is still my favorite word to this day; it means ‘flower’.
