Thirty-seven youth hikers from the Cape Cultural Collective Arts and Nature programme took part in a fascinating 9km hike at the Tygerberg Nature Reserve on Sunday.
The day began with a moment of silence for Noel Daniels, our board member who passed away two weeks ago.
The youth learnt about the floral kingdom and the natural environment. They also enjoyed stunning views of Table Mountain and witnessed several planes getting ready for landing at CT International Airport in the distance.
The young folk came from the Likhwezi Dance Group, the Philippi farming community and the Rosa choir youth. The hikes take place once a month, coordinated by Aziza Davids, Meagan Baradien and Chris Ferndale.
Many thanks to Jive Cooldrinks for funding this program.
