We connected with Gaza…

On Saturday the District 6 Museum was packed to the rafters with Capetonians from all walks of life coming to show solidarity with the people of Palestine.
In addition, 250 joined the event online. You can view the event here
The powerful, moving, and inspiring performances from the poets and musicians were punctuated with cries of Free Free Palestine from the audience. There were poems and songs of grief, mourning, solidarity, and hope.
Thank you to all those who contributed to making the event such a success, the artists who exhibited their work, the sound and video teams, the vendors, those who performed, and all of you who supported the event.
Over R10,000 was raised for Gift of the Givers through donations and food sales.
The Cape Cultural Collective was honoured to have played a part, along with D6 Museum, Palestinian Solidarity Campaign, Salt River Heritage Society, South African Jews for a Free Palestine, Friends of Cuba Society (FOCUS), Artists for Equity and African Artists Against Apartheid, in this powerful solidarity event.
