Teams of singers and musicians will be heading to the recording studios in the next few weeks to put together creative pieces.
The first is the recording of a freedom song for a movie that will be set in 1976 in Cape Town. It depicts a time of political turbulence that included the revolt of the youth and the violence of the apartheid state. The movie will be produced by Green Leaf films, the same Pretoria-based company that produced Address Unknown, set in District Six during the forced removals.
The story revolves around the last postman of District Six. Address Unknown won a SAFTA for the best short film of 2021.
The CCC produced the music for that film as well. See link to Midnight Blue, one of the pieces used in the movie.
Later in October or in early November, a team of musos will do a remix of Midnight Blue.
It will be released on multiple platforms before the end of the year.
Details of further recordings planned in the coming months will be released.
