On Sunday, 15 September, we embarked on a scenic walk at Silvermine Nature Reserve with 21 youth from Manenberg, Bonteheuwel, Goodwood, Langa, and Lansdowne.  The circular route took us 3.5 hours, leading to Noordhoek Peak and back to the dam. Despite the windy weather, fog, and a light drizzle at the peak, the beauty of the blooming fynbos made it all worthwhile.
We were treated to the sight of white and yellow daisies, pink Erica’s, yellow Pincushion Proteas, and Everlasting flowers in full bloom.  The views were simply breathtaking—stretching across Long Beach, Kommetjie, and towards Hout Bay. We even managed to glimpse both the Atlantic and False Bay from the same viewpoints. A few adventurous spirits took a dip in the dam after the walk, adding a splash of excitement to the day!
Everyone left with smiles and memories of an unforgettable day.
