This past Sunday, 20 youth from Gugulethu , Nyanga and Manenberg walked the Cecelia Forest as part of the CCC Arts and Nature Programme.
The 4 hour circular route encompassed both Constantia Neck and above Kirstenbosch Gardens.
En-route the walkers stopped at a memorial bench for Minister Dullah Omar. Chris Ferndale was able to present the youth a brief history of Dullah Omar as an activist and lawyer in the 80s as well his role as both Minister of Justice & Transport.
The youth enjoyed a long cool walk with many beautiful views over Constantia to the sea and past the airport. They enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the mountain paths.
They described the views as pictures specially arranged for them on the day.
Meagan Baradien arranged the logistics and Chris Ferndale led the hike.
