The CCC has performed at several events in recent weeks.
We played music at a Cuba-South Africa solidarity event in the middle of September and then again at the inaugural Pro Jack memorial lecture at the end of September. Jack was an anti-apartheid activist who was assassinated in 1991.
The CCC’s Thami Baba sang a song that Pro taught his comrades at Victor Verster Prison in 1985. On 30 September, Razak Johnson and Mansoor Jaffer provided cover and original music at a heritage programme organised by the Salt River Heritage Society.
The group is reflecting on the history of Salt River through various art forms, including murals and talks.
