On Saturday several actors, dancers, poets, musicians and singers joined 60 000 people in a march for peace and an end to genocide in Palestine.
Lending their voices, the group sang freedom songs as they marched from District 6 to Parliament.
SAPACC (South African Palestinian Arts and Culture Coalition) and the CCC (Cape Cultural Collective) were among the organizations’ represented as well as many individuals.
Mansoor Jaffer of the CCC said he hoped this was the start of more artists becoming involved in cultural and solidarity events for justice and peace.
